March 11 May 6, 2010. This is the first solo U.S. museum exhibition of New York-based artist Cory Arcangel. Arcangel, a pioneer in the use of digital technologies in contemporary art, often combines music, humor, and computer and video game software to create works that examine the aesthetics and uses of technology. This exhibition will bring together a selection of older works, such as video installations, photographs, and other media. A number of these works include collaborations with other artists and musicians and some have never been exhibited before. Arcangel will also produce new multimedia works for the exhibition. Reflecting the modes in which the artist works, music, the Internet and performance will play integral roles in the formation of new works. As an artist invested in the ramifications of the virtual dissemination of information, Arcangel s exhibition will extend beyond the gallery walls to include web components.
