The story is based on the Biblical story of Joseph, found in the book of Genesis. It is set in a frame in which a narrator is telling a story to children, encouraging them to dream. She then tells the story of Joseph, another dreamer ("Prologue," "Any Dream Will Do"). Although based on the Bible, the story does not a religious play, the tone is playful and light. A perfect theatrical event for the whole family. Musical Theatre students between the ages of 8-13 make up the cast. Direction by Gary Rucker & Kelly Fouchi, Musical Direction by Carrie Hill.

The Foundry 333 Street Joseph Street in New Orleans New Orleans, LA
The event will take place at The Foundry, 333 St. Joseph street, New Orleans on Friday, July 30th, 2010 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Over 30 regionally and nationally recognized artists have come together to donate works of art in an effort to do their part to help the wildlife affected by the Gulf oil spill.
While watching the devastating effects that the Deepwater Horizon explosion and oil spill are having on our precious Gulf Coast culture and wildlife, several concerned members of the New Orleans art community found ourselves faced with the question, "How, as artists, can we help?" To us, the obvious answer was to provide a medium through which artists from across the globe could reach out by using their creative skills to provide aid and assistance. Shortly thereafter, the nonprofit organization Artists ACT NOW was formed. We teamed up with Audubon Nature Institute in collaboration with LMMSTRP (Louisiana Marine Mammal and Sea Turtle Rescue Program) and began preparations for our first benefit art show, "ACT NOW for the Gulf.”
The event will feature donated works by artists with both regional and national recognition including: Aubrey Edwards, Charles Merrell, Doug Keese, Jason DuMouchel, Sean Friloux, Karen Ocker, Kristin Littwin Gile, Tim Trapolin, Chris Kirsch, Christopher Morrison Slave, Brian Bush, Anne Cicero and many more...
Food and drink vendors include The Bombay Club and Couchon Butcher and PJ’s Coffee. Live music will be provided by The New Orleans Moonshiners
Tickets are $30.00 per person and can be purchased online at www.artistsactnow.org (click on ACT NOW for The Gulf) or at PJ’s Coffee at 5432 Magazine street.
