Peddler's Village
Route 202 and Route 263
Lahaska, PA 18931

SAVOR THE SWEETNESS OF SPRING AT THE Saturday, May 1 and Sunday May 2, 2010 PEDDLER’S VILLAGE 41st ANNUAL STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL! No fruit announces spring like strawberries! Imagine an old-fashioned country fair featuring freshly-dipped chocolate strawberries, cream topped strawberry shortcakes and freshly baked pastries, warm strawberry fritters, strawberry preserves, and pies overflowing with the luscious fruit. Peddler’s Village has been celebrating the strawberry harvest each May for 41 years at the Annual Strawberry Festival. The annual Peddler’s Village Strawberry Festival is still two full days of festive foods and family entertainment with the same warm and friendly Bucks County hospitality as the very first festival. Tented carts offering strawberries prepared in every way possible line the winding brick pathways of the Village. Families and friends saunter along, stopping at their leisure to taste plump strawberries dipped in chocolate, sip a refreshing strawberry smoothie, or to watch strawberry fritters sizzle in an old fashioned iron kettle and then sink their teeth in the crispy, sweet pastry sprinkled with powdered sugar. Everyone picks up a few pints of the fresh berries and jars of chunky preserves to enjoy at home. Between tasting the delightful treats, visitors enjoy the all day live musical entertainment, displays of unique handcrafted works scattered throughout the Village and the kids can get creative in the children’s crafts areas. Each afternoon at 3 o’clock, the crowds gather on the Main Green to cheer on their favorite contestants in the Strawberry Pie Eating Contests. The winning pie eaters proudly display their blue ribbons for the cameras with whipped cream still clinging to their faces. What a perfect ending to a celebration of the strawberry and the best of Bucks County Heritage! As Peddler’s Village enters its 47th year as a family owned and operated destination, the Strawberry Festival kicks off an exciting year full of 11 traditional festivals and seasonal events that draw 2.5 million visitors annually to this charming 18th century style dining, shopping, lodging and family entertainment destination nestled in the heart of historic Bucks County, Pennsylvania, just 40 miles north of Philadelphia. The festival is always a fun-filled experience, full of much loved traditions for the locals as well as for the thousands of visitors from many parts of the United States. If you go… Peddler’s Village Strawberry Festival 2010, Saturday, May 1 and Sunday, May 2, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., rain or shine. Free admission and parking. Team ÂÂ" Muppets Take Mt. HoodÂÂ" will be running 200 miles from Mt. Hood to Astoria in Oregon this August in the Hood to Coast relay race. www.hoodtocoast.com Unfortunately the costs involved in this kind of race are extraordinarily high. There are registration fees, flights, hotels, van rentals, food, equipment, team uniforms, promotions, etc, etc. None of which are cheap and then multiply that by 12 team members and 2 van drivers. We are looking to get some help in deferring some of the costs of running this amazing race by having some fund raising events throughout the spring and summer up until race time. This will be the first of several events. The deal: Fox and Hound (15th and Spruce) Thursday March 11 from 6 to 8pm For $25, donators will get a two hour open bar including domestic draft beers such as Coors Light, Miller Lite, Bud and Bud light, Yuengling Lager and Sly Fox. Proceeds will go to the team fund to help pay for things like registration, van rentals and hotel rooms. ThereÂÂ'll be a DJ spinning great tunes all night from the time we are there until the end of the night. Free appetizers will also be provided including unlimited chips and dip and a few pizzas for those that get there early enough. There will be free gifts given out from local sponsors like Philadelphia Sports Club, Modell's, City Sports, Jameson and others. Following the happy hour, Fox and Hound will be holding their "FOX ICON" karaoke contest where you could win the night and then go on to win the season - upto $750! Following the happy hour, Fox and Hound will be holding their "FOX ICON" karaoke contest where you could win the night and then go on to win the season - upto $750! WhatÂÂ's the deal with that team name?? One of the coolest parts about this relay race, other than it being in an amazingly scenic part of the country, is that it encourages team themes and costumes. We have decided to dress as the Muppets ÂÂ- Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Beaker, Swedish Chef, Animal, Waldorf, Camilla and others. Yes, we will be running in costume. Maybe not full costume depending on how extravagant we each get with it, but youÂÂ'll know that Gonzo is running. We did this kind of race locally last year and it was a great experience and a tough run but well worth it. If you are a runner or into any kind of outdoors activities you will appreciate what the team is trying to do. Here is a video compilation from the first relay we did in Sept 2009 - New Haven to Boston: http://www.youtube.co.... Other sponsorship opportunities: we're not above accepting corporate sponsorship as well. In return for monetary donations, we will display your logo on our costumes and vans. We can also work out other trade-offs as well.
