The Fallen Troubadours
The music has a 1960's jingle jangle feel to it. Think of the Byrds.... Add in some soul ala Van Morrison or Ray Charles. Now add to that a band that creates momentous low-fi energy, such as Dr. Dog or Delta Spirit. Finally, a spoonful of Dylan, and a dash of John Lennon. That is The Fallen Troubadours sound. Like a prism of colors passing through the glass, coming out something familiar, but new and unheard.

Chris Arena
Chris Arena's self-titled debut is an album of haunting lyrics that dig deeper than the bones, and beautifully vulnerable melodies that hum louder than your own thoughts. Mixed by Grammy Award-winner Tony Maserati, Arena's songs combine the intimacy of Nick Drake with the modern, semi-sprawling sensibilities of Alexi Murdoch and Bright Eyes. Two of his songs are featured in the new documentary Dark Fall by New Jersey filmmaker Alex DePhillipo.

Mount Joy Band

We head out for a 1.5 hour hike in the Chestnut Hill Wissahickon area. Afterwards join us for some company, and/or food and drink at my abode. Foods are usually for a small meal. Some suggestions on what to bring: veggies, fruit, wine. The Chestnut Hill and Wissahickon areas are about as beautiful places as you would want to visit. And you don't need to travel to Colorado or Montana or Maine. With better weather the twilight hikes in the Chestnut Hill Wissahickon should be great. We will head around Chestnut Hill, go into the park, for a 1-1.5 hour walk and hopefully view a wonderful sunset from one of the highest places in the city. This will not be as difficult as the usual hikes in the Wissahickon. Needless to say, we will go a different route each hike. We meet in the lobby at Hill House (201 W Evergreen, 19118). http://local.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=116038663712107563784.00046d2fa30ad3caadff2&ll=40.07482,-75.208797&spn=0.046894,0.060253&z=14 Have your event fee of $2 ready in dollar bills. No coins, dubloons, or 5's or 10"s. Thank you. Please be aware of our group rating system. We need 5 stars ratings or no rating. http://www.hikingaroundphilly.com/pages/Star_Ratings/ If you change your mind please change your RSVP. No-shows will be barred from my events. Larkin Poe

We are sisters. We are music lovers. We are storytellers.

Every since we were little girls, weve been awed by the power of a story well told: from childrens books and bedtime yarns to figments and fairytales. Before we were able to read, we hounded our parents for more stories! and then, when at last we could; we began hounding the bookshelves.

Now, nearly a decade later, at 19 and 20, were still doing the same thing.

Were still on the search for stories, and striving to learn how to tell them well. Now, we not only hound bookshelves, but also the people surrounding us. We search for stories of human experience, of love won and love lost, and of the million mundane things that make up everyday life.

Larkin Poe: the name of our great-great-great-grandfather; a man who survives in the memories and hearts of succeeding generations; a legend, a tall tale, a truly everlasting story. Just the thing that we hope to become.

Our musical journey, which began for us as children playing classical violin and piano at the ages of 5 and 6, continued through our teenage years as we toured internationally from 2005 to 2010 as The Lovell Sisters. This incarnation, which included our eldest sister, Jessica (www.lovellsisters.com), took us from the stage of the Grand Ole Opry to wonderful summer festivals such as Bonnaroo and Telluride, and even gave us the opportunity to collaborate with the likes of Elvis Costello. In January 2010, after saying farewell to The Lovell Sisters, the musical story of our young adulthood has begun in the form of our new band, Larkin Poe.

Joined by Knoxville-based musicians, Daniel Kimbro (bass), Chad Melton (drums), and Mike Seal (electric guitar), we released our debut EP on February 17, 2010. Comprised of nine original tracks, the EP stretches many genre boundaries incorporating elements of folk, Americana, country, and pop.

Out of the box with a bang, we played our first gigs as a band on the Cayamo Cruise alongside artists such as Emmylou Harris, Lyle Lovett, and Steve Earle. Immediately following the cruise, we toured Florida and Alabama opening for Brandi Carlile and the Indigo Girls. We have a European tour booked for July, along with some amazing summer festivals like Merlefest. More dates announced soon; were looking forward to seeing you out on the road
